Our Passion for Jack Russells
At Carolina Jack Russell Terriers, we are dedicated to celebrating the unique traits of Jack Russell Terriers. Our passion for this breed drives us to provide exceptional care and training for every pup. We allow our Sweet Ladies to birth once every 12 months, and therfore we only have 3 to 4 litters per year.
We offer all 3 Jack Russell terrier coat types
The coat of Jack Russell Terriers is known for its unique ability to repel water, dirt and dust, which makes it especially practical for a breed that is actively used in hunting and other outdoor activities. This feature of the coat helps it stay clean even in wet and dirty conditions, and also helps it self-clean, greatly reducing the need for frequent bathing and requiring less maintenance.
Jack Russell terriers exist with three main types of coat: Rough coat, Smooth coat and Broken coat.
Rough Coat-long haired
Course-coat that needs regular trimming rather than a haircut. Trimming is the process of removing old, dead hair by hand or with a special tool. This allows the new coat to grow healthy and strong.
Smooth- Short haired
Smooth-coated dogs have short, smooth hair that requires much less maintenance than hard-coated dogs. Their coat is easy to keep clean with regular brushing with a soft brush.
Broken Coat
Dogs with a broken coat (intermediate type) have a combination of hard and smooth coats.
